Artist's Comments

Someone asked me to draw something as if I were on acid. This resulted.

Should I color this?
9x12" microns on watercolor paper

wow, very cool, this looks like it took you a very long time. I don't think you should color it, looks great as is :)

For the question of if you should color this my answer would be NO!! But thats just me, its hard to get detail this awesome and still have it show up with color and the color brings a whole new dimension of visual focus that would take away from the great linear quality that this drawing has.

I love the flow and style of the composition. Beautifully detailed. Fascinating imagery.

You don't *need* acid...that's good ;) Lovely work.
If u colour it, I think it shouldn't be in more than 3 colours of the same group...something like blue/green or red/orange...otherwise it might get too confusing.

Oh yes, definitely color this one.

You have some wonderful things happening with textures - of particular note is that long, luxurious hair on the central character.

However, one of the drawbacks to "acid-inspired" pictures is that there's ususally such a surplus of stuff in the background that it's hard to tell what's going on. I think that if you colored this picture, that would help us to make some sense of everything that's going on in here. :-)

very nice picture. if you wanted you could highlight things in a very limited palette. it keeps the dynamic appeal of using black and white but you can satisfy that urge for distinction if youre worried about losing shapes like rachael said. but great piece.

I dig it. I'd say don't colour it.

Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.
